Meeting The Meeting aims to
assess the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol in Europe, and identify the challenges it
poses, in terms of the scientific and technological problems to be solved, respecting both
the climate system and the energy sector, including the final use of energy.
Invited scientists and experts will give an
overview on (I) the Kyoto Protocol implementation, (II) the scientific
background for this protocol, in terms of the mechanisms of climate change and of its
possible impacts and (III) primary energy sources, energy vectors, intensity of
energy use and their interactions with climate change.
